Testimonials
This is a very impressive project which is incredibly interesting for families. Everybody is very kind, the food is delicious and the activities are amazing. We walked on various trails, took the very impressive gondola to the river, went to the waterfall. The instructors and biologists on site thought I was about snakes, frogs, butterflies, bats, etc. it was a very interesting experience for the whole family. They original canopy tour is a must, very safe and lots of fun! Highly recommended to all families, for all ages!
We went as part of an excellent tour with Limon tours (Jorge). Although it is expensive we enjoyed every minute of it. Our guide was Freddie, that young man was so passionate and knowledgeable. Freddie made sure we saw as many animals as possible and we were so thankful for his hard work. Make sure you go, and also we recommend you look up our review of Limon tours. Jorge will make sure you have a great time in Puerto Limon.
First of all, the weather was glorious. No one can control the weather, but we certainly had something phenomenal to deal with. Second, the entire experience was one I will never forget. It felt one-on-one and very special. It was well-organized on every level. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly, answering any questions we threw at them. And the fresh fruit they served the visitors was the tastiest I've had in years. Another bonus. We saw monkeys, sloths, frogs, snakes, butterflies and even an ant nearly two-inches long. If I can ever go back, I will!
This was an outstanding experience. It was an excursion offered by Holland America Cruise Lines (the Zuiderdam) The guides were very knowledgeable, the excursion was appropriately titled (Veragua Rainforest Eco-Adventure), and nature lovers will be in awe of the spectacular scenery and views. It was a wonderful educational experience.
We loved Veragua. It was educational and entertaining. We started out with at easy walk, seeing reptiles and amphibians in a contained natural environment. An area tram takes you from above the treetops down. It’s a very high tech swiss type ski tram. There are two hikes when you get to the bottom. One is flat and easy, about 15 minutes. It goes to the river. The other is listed as strenuous and goes to a waterfall that is lovely. It was less than a 10 minute walk there and is listed as strenuous just because there are steps up and down. We were so fortunate to get to listen to a couple of researchers talking about their research and conservation in the rainforest, which was awesome. Lunch was included in our tour, which was a nice convenience. Hearty and tasty. There is a nice gift shop and proceeds support the foundation and its conservation efforts. It was a trip highlight.
